Atkinson Designs: Lucky Stars

I’m already halfway through a queen-size version and the way these blocks come together is so satisfying—each star finishes perfectly flat without any puckering. The fat quarter layout is genius for someone like me who likes quick, rewarding projects.

These fat quarters cut like a dream and the simple star blocks came together in just one weekend. I made a lap quilt for my niece and the pattern was so easy to follow. Five stars from a happy beginner!

I was nervous about my first quilt, but the step-by-step layout for the crib size made it super clear and I didn’t mess up a single star. The pattern’s fat quarter-friendly design saved me a bunch of cutting time, too.
