Byzantine Door Quilt Pattern by Fabric Cafe

The 3-yard lap size is perfect for a weekend project, and the instructions made the Byzantine design come together neatly. I love how the finished quilt has that intricate look without being overly complicated.

The instructions were so clear that I pulled this together in a single afternoon, and the finished lap quilt is exactly the 3-yard size I wanted. Cutting and piecing the door panels felt intuitive, even for someone like me who usually second-guesses every step. This one’s a keeper.

I made this pattern using three different fat quarter bundles I had lying around, and everything came together nicely—the lap size is just right for snuggling on the couch. It took me a weekend to finish, which felt about right for a 3-yard quilt.
