I was a bit nervous about the crosshatch pattern looking complicated, but the instructions for simple strip piecing made it surprisingly easy to follow. The finished quilt top has that layered illusion I was hoping for, even with just my small print fabrics.

The crosshatch design really delivers that layered illusion—I used solids and it looks way more complex than the effort involved. Cutting went quick and the strip piecing instructions are clear enough that I finished the top in one afternoon.

The strip piecing method is genius—I had the whole top assembled in a single afternoon, and the crosshatch illusion looks way more complex than the effort it took. Even my fussy cutting skills handled it without a hitch.
