I was a little nervous about ordering fabric online, but the hand-dyed look of this batik in the Surf colorway is exactly what I hoped for—the colors shift beautifully in the light. The 100% cotton feels soft yet sturdy enough for piecing, and it pressed out completely flat.

The Island Leaves print in this Surf colorway has such a fluid, watercolor-like flow that it feels almost luminous next to solid cottons. I pressed it with a hot iron and the color held perfectly without any bleeding. This batik is going to be stunning in a scrappy quilt border.

The hand-dyed look of this Surf batik gives it so much depth, and the cobalt blues really pop against the cream background. It pressed beautifully without any shifting, which made cutting my quilt squares a breeze. Exactly the quality I expect from a true cotton fabric.
