The wool has a nice tight weave that didn't fray at all when I cut it for a felted flower brooch. It's thick enough to hold shape well but still easy to hand stitch through.

Bought a quarter yard for a small appliqué project and the 43/44-inch width gave me way more than enough to work with. It’s already pre-felted, so no shrinking surprises after cutting. Dry cleaning is a bit of a hassle, but the vintage white shade is exactly what I needed.
