I was a bit worried the pattern would be too subtle in person, but the contrast between the deep black and silvery gray is actually quite striking. The fabric has a lovely smooth hand that made it easy to cut precise shapes for my quilt blocks.

The black-and-gray damask pattern is so crisp and moody, exactly the gothic look I wanted for my quilt backing. The fabric itself has a nice, sturdy hand without being stiff.

I’ve been hunting for fabric with real gothic depth, and this damask delivers—the intricate pattern holds up beautifully even when cut into small pieces. The black is deep and the gray has a subtle shimmer that catches the light just right.
