The 60wt weight is perfect for piecing—my seams lay flat without any of that bulky puckering you get with cheaper threads. It glided through my machine without a single snap during a long quilting session, and the mercerized finish gives it a lovely subtle sheen.

I had to double check that this was actually 60wt because the Egyptian cotton feels so much more substantial than other fine threads. The mercerization gives it just enough sheen for detailed machine appliqué without looking plastic-y.
