Kyoto Steps uses six fabrics (at 1/2 yard each for the Twin, 1/3 each for the Lap and 3/4 or 2/3 for the Full/Queen sizes) plus background fabric to make a modern quilt that focuses on larger panels in the central area and smaller rectangles that step out to the top and bottom in rythmic spaces. Ella ★★★★★

The fabric amounts are spot on for each size, so no guesswork when pulling stash pieces. I love how the large panels come together quickly — this pattern is perfect for showing off a favorite print without fussy piecing.

Owen U. ★★★★★

The yardage breakdown for each quilt size is printed right in the pattern, so I could figure out my fabric stash before heading to the shop. The larger panels came together quicker than I expected, and the modern look feels fresh without being tricky.

Joshua ★★★★★

I appreciate that the pattern gives clear yardage for each size separately—it made calculating fabric easy. The modern panel layout came together nicely once I got the hang of the steps. Exactly what I needed for a quick, satisfying quilt top.
