ANDOVER - Dove by Andover - Tumbling Flowers - 煤炭色 - #6283-BT

I was nervous the coal color would read too dark, but it's got a lovely softness that makes the tonal flowers feel almost dimensional once it's pieced. The hand is smooth and not too stiff, which made cutting a real pleasure.

The tonal flowers shift beautifully in natural light, almost like they’re layered into the coal base. I’ve already cut into it for a quilt backing and the hand feels sturdy without being stiff. Just the right depth for a dark, moody palette.

The floral print is so soft and subtle in person—the coal background makes it feel more sophisticated than a typical bright quilt fabric. I ordered it for a baby quilt and the tonal pattern lets the piecing shine without being too busy.
