紀念美國拼布書

The museum-quality photos of early American quilts are stunning, and I learned so much about how these pieces were political statements for women. It's already sparked hours of conversation in my book club.

This book finally gives commemorative quilts the scholarly attention they deserve, weaving in women’s voices across all 250 years of American history. The timeline approach makes it easy to dip in and out, and the historical context adds layers to every pattern.

I was surprised how much depth this book brings to the story of women’s voices through quilt patterns, not just the craft itself. The timeline connecting each quilt to a specific historical event makes it easy to follow the 250-year arc. It’s already sparked a few conversations with my sewing group.
