This pattern came together surprisingly fast—those 30 five-inch squares really do create a beautiful scrappy medallion. I love how the center looks set on point but is pieced straight, saving so much frustration with tricky seams.

I used up some of my scrap stash for this, and the 30 five-inch squares made the cutting surprisingly efficient. The center medallion’s on-point illusion is so satisfying to see come together.
