The blue-green depth in this Big Sur batik is even richer in person, with subtle watercolor swirls that catch the light beautifully. It's soft enough to hand-stitch without effort, and the colors make a perfect ocean backdrop for a landscape quilt.

Cut a fat quarter for a test block and the hand-feel is what sold me — that batik texture has just enough body to press crisply without fighting my iron. The Big Sur colorway reads almost like watercolor on the bolt, and the pattern repeat is forgiving for matching seams.

The colors in this Big Sur print are incredibly vibrant, and the batik pattern has a nice depth that stands out in my latest quilt project. I'm pleased with how well it held up during prewashing, with almost no bleeding.
