MODA - Grunge Basics by BasicGrey - Regatta

The mottled surface of this fabric adds such nice depth to my patchwork—much more interesting than a flat solid. I used it as an accent sashing and it blended perfectly without overpowering the other prints.

The color is a deep, rich navy that reads almost black in some lights, and the subtle Grunge mottling gives it so much more depth than a solid would. I’m already planning another project around this exact shade.

The mottled texture is perfect for adding visual interest without being overwhelming; I used it as the background for a scrappy log cabin and it really makes the brighter colours pop. The blue has such nice depth to it that it feels almost like a hand-dyed piece.
