Quilt Theory - Layered Diamonds

I wasn't sure about the on-point layout at first, but the diagrams in this pattern make it surprisingly easy to visualize how the layer cakes should be placed. The finished diamond shapes really pop with my fabric choices.

I was a little nervous about cutting my layer cakes on point, but the diagrams made the process surprisingly easy. The quilt came together much faster than I expected.

The instructions for placing those 10-inch squares on point were so clear that I had my first diamond block together in under an hour. I love how the layered piecing adds just enough visual interest without making the whole quilt feel fussy.
