I used a bundle of fat quarters I’d been saving and the pattern came together in one afternoon. The instructions for the accent fabric placement were clear and the finished quilt is exactly 42x50.

The math works out beautifully—8 fat quarters for 3 rows of squares, plus a half-yard accent, and you get a perfect 42”x50” lap quilt. The pattern cut and sewed up surprisingly fast, which was a relief. I’m already planning my next one in different colors.

I love how this pattern makes three rows from just eight fat quarters—it's so satisfying to see the fabric stack come together. The finished size is perfect for a quick lap quilt.
